Sabres Score 3 Times in 3rd Period to Breeze Past Hurricanes 3-1

The Sabres opened up the Pre-Season Portion of their Schedule tonight with a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes at the First Niagara Center. The Hurricanes struck first early in the 2nd Period on a Brandon Sutter goal. The Hurricanes would hold the lead for the next 20:24 when Paul Gaustad tied it up for the Sabres. Nathan Gerbe would give the Sabres the lead less than 4 minutes later. Patrick Kaleta would finish the scoring with an Empty Net Goal with 1 sec left. The line of Gaustad, Kaleta, and Gerbe finished with 8 Points(3 Goals, 5 Assists) and a combined +8 Rating. Jhonas Enroth got the win in relief of Drew MacIntyre stopping all 11 shots he faced.

The Sabres return to the ice on Wednesday Night when they travel to the Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens at 7:30 PM.
