Roy Scores Shootout Winner in Return Home

Ottawa Native Derek Roy return home to beat Senators tonight 3-2 in a shootout. The Sabres would give up the first goal of the game when Milan Michalek got through the Sabres Defense and was able to his shot between Enroth arm and body with less than 5 minutes left in the 1st Period. The Sabres would tie the Game 10:51 into the 2nd Period when Derek Roy would tip a Ville Leino shot past Sens Goalie Craig Anderson. The Sabres would take the lead 2:14 later when Nathan Gerbe found Jordan Leopold in front of the net. The Sens would quickly tie the game less than 2 minutes later when Chris Condra would get sprung on a breakaway and then beat Enroth 5-hole. The teams would trade chances in the 3rd and Overtime Periods without any other tallies. The game went to the shootout were the teams would trade goals in the first 2 rounds. Enroth and Anderson would then slam the door 3 Rounds until Derek Roy would eventually end the game. Enroth won his 4th game of the season stopping 25 Senators shots. Anderson got the loss making 31 Saves.

Sabres return to Action on Tuesday Night against the Winnipeg Jets at 7:00 PM. Before the Game the Sabres will be honoring former Jet and Sabre Dale Hawerchuck and Sabres Play By Play Legend Rick Jeanneret. The Game can be seen on MSG HD and heard on WGR 550.
