The Sabres didn’t make it easy in their matchup with the Dallas Stars falling down by 2 goals with 14:43 left in the game. However the Sabres were able to rally and beat the Stars 3-2 in a shootout. Dallas jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 2:07 left in the 1st Period when Michael Ryder tipped home an Alex Goligoski on a Power Play Marker. Tomas Vancour 2nd goal of the season 4:17 into the 3rd Period put the Stars up 2-0. Thomas Vanek would start off the comeback tipping home a Jason Pominville shot on the Power Play less than a minute later. Derek Roy would enjoy his best moment of the season so far tying the game with 39 seconds left in regulation. Sabres and Stars would trade Shootout goals in the first 3 rounds, Jason Pominville scored in the first Round and Jamie Benn in the 2nd Round. Nathan Gerbe would score the game clincher in the 5th round on a beautiful back hander. Michael Ryder would miss the net on his attempt and Buffalo walked away with the 2 points. Ryan Miller keeps up his terrific play making 26 Saves on the Night earning the win. Kari Lehotnen was just a sharp in the shootout loss making 30 saves.
Sabres are back in action tomorrow night when they take on Martin St. Louis and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Puck Drop is after 7:00 PM and can be seen on MSG HD and WGRZ HD.
