Sabres Acquire Steve Ott and Adam Pardy from the Stars for Derek Roy

If you asked fans at the end of last season what would you want to see the Sabres do in the offseason, many would say moving Derek Roy and add some grit up front. Today the Sabres did both by sending Roy to the Stars for forward Steve Ott and Defensemen Adam Pardy. Roy ends his Sabres career playing in 549 games recording 427 Points(161 G, 261 A).

Ott comes to the Sabres with 2 years remaining on his current deal with a cap hit of $2.59M. Ott who will turn 30 in August will likely be on the 3rd line at the start of next season. Ott played 9 seasons with the Stars racking up 220 Points(85 G, 135 A) and 1,170 Penalty Minutes. Ott has also been in the top 10 in hits the last 4 seasons. Defensemen Adam Pardy is under contract for 1 more season with a cap hit of 2 Million. He has played in 183 career games with 29 Points(5 G, 24 A) and 157 Penalty Minutes. With 9 Defensemen fighting for 6 spots on their roster, expect the Sabres to make another move involving a defensemen.
