Hours after the NHL and NHLPA announced a Verbal Agreement on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, They announced what date the puck will be dropped. CBC Reporter Elliot Friedman reports that the NHL sent out Memos to teams letting them know that the Season will begin on January 19th. Also in the Memo the NHL told teams that training camps will begin on either January 12th or the 14th. If the Schedule for the most part sticks to what was released in July The Sabres will be opening the season at The First Niagara Center against the Carolina Hurricanes

Lockout Over, NHL and NHLPA Agree on Deal

It is all over. Hockey fans can rejoice the Lockout has ended. Early Sunday Morning the NHL and NHLPA have come to terms on a new CBA. Deal Will Last 10 Years with an opt out after 8 season. Cap will be at 64.3 Million next season. Contract Length is 7 years on free agent market, 8 years for own team. Deal will be voted on and Camps should be opening in the coming days. Season will likely start within the next 10 days.
