Three 3rd Period Goals Power Sabres To 4-2 Victory Over Rival Bruins

The Sabres kicked off their 3 game home stand on a good note with a 4-2 victory over the Northeast Division leading Boston Bruins. Drew Stafford finally found the back of the net when he fired a wrist shot from the slot that beat Anton Khudobin 3:24 into the game. Boston would answer before the first would end however on the Power Play from a Dougie Hamilton shot with 2:04 left.

The Bruins would get on the board early in the 2nd Period to take a 2-1 lead after Rich Peverley deposited a bad bounce off the end boards past Ryan Miller 2:29 into the 2nd. It would be the last goal that would get past Miller on the night. The Sabres were outplayed by the Bruins and were outshot 17-6. Miller made 16 of his 30 Saves on the night in the 2nd Period to hold the Sabres in the game.

The Sabres would control the 3rd Period outshooting the Bruins 10-3 and outscoring them 3-0. Tyler Myers would tie the game netting his 2nd of the Season as he would deposit a juicy rebound left by Khudobin into the yawning net. Christian Ehrhoff would net the game winner 9 minutes into the 3rd Period firing a wrist shot from the slot past Khudobin. Cody Hodgson would give the Sabres insurance getting his 6th of the Season with less than 9 minutes left. Miller picked up his 6th win on the Season stopping 30 of 32 Bruins Shots faced. The Sabres had a better night against Bruins Rookie Netminder Khudobin scoring 4 times on 26 shots, handing the Rookie his first loss of the Season.

The Sabres will be home on Sunday as part of Hockey Day In America when they host Sidney Crosby and The Pittsburgh Penguins. Puck Drop is scheduled for 12:30 PM and can be seen on NBC HD.
