The Sabres snapped their 4 game losing streak thanks to 2 goals from Marcus Foligno and Jhonas Enroth strong play in a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers. The game was scoreless after the 1st period of play. The Sabres for the 3rd straight game gave up a Short Handed goal when Derek Stepan cashed in the loose puck in front of Jhonas Enroth at the 4:17 mark of the 2nd Period. Enroth would slam the door the rest of the way making 32 Saves on the Night earning his first win since November 26, 2011.
Marcus Foligno would tie the game 1:18 later collecting the puck off the end boards and put the puck past Henrik Lundqvist. The Sabres would grab the lead 7:05 later when Thomas Vanek was sent in alone on Lundqvist firing a wrist shot past the Rangers netminder. Foligno would add his 2nd of the night slapping a rebound from a Andrej Sekera shot between the legs of Lundqvist at the 11:48 mark of the 3rd Period. Lundqvist was handed his 9th loss of the season stopping 19 shots.
