Sabres Send Grigorenko Back To Quebec, Trade Brennan To Panthers for 5th RD Pick

With Ville Leino and Tyler Ennis making their returns to the lineup tomorrow afternoon the Sabres needed to make some moves to open up a roster spot. This Afternoon the Sabres sent Rookie Center Mikhail Grigorenko back to the Quebec Ramparts of the QMJHL. In 22 games so far this season Grigorenko had 1 goals and 5 Points. The Ramparts have 1 more regular season game left, before their playoffs start next week. Grigorenko is eligible to come back to Buffalo or play in the AHL with the Amerks once the Ramparts season is over. The move opened up the roster spot for Ville Leino to be activated off the IR.

The Sabres weren’t done after that when they moved Defensemen TJ Brennan to Florida for a 5th RD pick in the 2013 draft. In 21 career games with the Sabres Brennan recorded 2 Goals for 2 points. With the move the Sabres currently have 6 defensemen with Alexander Sulzer out the rest of the season with a torn acl. The Sabres now have 22 players on the roster and will most likely recall a defensemen from Rochester to fill in as the 7th man.
