Sabres Release Training Camp Roster

The Buffalo Sabres released their training camp roster today (to view the full roster click here for the pdf on Sabres.com).

It’ll be the first time the Sabres’ new coaching staff and players will be together. Ron Rolston was able to assemble his own staff in the offseason. Joe Sacco and Teppo Numminen will bring a wealth of NHL experience to the staff (mostly as players but as coaches as well). Jerry Forton left Harvard to join Rolston this summer here in Buffalo.

The goalies may get more attention from fans with the Ryan Miller trade rumors that have been around for the past season. The Sabres have invited Enroth, Hackett (these two could be the men who replace Miller if he is traded), Knapp, Lieuwen, and Makarov (has turned some heads with his international play).

Per the Sabres, veterans will report on September 11th for physicals and testing.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 12, the team’s practice sessions at First Niagara Center will be open to the public, with practices being broken down into three sessions.

In addition to the practice sessions, there will be daily scrimmages, alternating between two of the three practice groups, which will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, will be an abbreviated practice schedule and an earlier scrimmage time, from 9:15 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.

The Sabres will then open their preseason schedule of games on Sunday, Sept. 15 against the Canadiens in Montreal at 7:30 p.m.
