Last Game Recap:

Andersen, Perry lead Ducks to sixth straight win

ANAHEIM — The Buffalo Sabres finally ended their scoreless streak, but it wasn’t enough against goalie Frederik Andersen and Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks.

Andersen made 22 saves to match his career-high sixth straight win and Perry had a hat trick in Anaheim’s 4-1 win Wednesday against Buffalo at Honda Center.

Perry ripped a slap shot past Buffalo goalie Michal Neuvirth at 17:17 of the third after captain Ryan Getzlaf outworked a defender to the puck to set it up. Perry completed his second hat trick this season on an empty-net goal at 18:55.

Andersen was 5:06 away from his second straight shutout when Tyler Ennis pushed a rebound by him to make it 2-1. Andersen had gone nearly 200 minutes without allowing a goal.

Ennis’ goal allowed Buffalo to avoid being shutout for the third straight game for the first time in team history. Its scoreless streak lasted 198 minutes, dating to a goal by Marcus Foligno in the third period of a shootout win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct.14.|BUF|home

Tonight’s Preview:

Sabres try to end offensive woes vs. Kings

Season series: The Buffalo Sabres earned a split against the Los Angeles Kings in 2013-14, with each team winning at home in games played five days apart. Jonathan Quick made 19 saves in a 2-0 shutout on Nov. 7, 2013, in the Sabres’ most-recent visit to Staples Center.

Sabres team scope: The offensive troubles that relegated Buffalo to last place in the overall standings last season haven’t improved. The Sabres come to Los Angeles after a solid effort that came up short in a 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, the opener of a four-game road trip. The Sabres have scored eight non-shootout goals in their seven games and are scoreless in 24 power plays after failing to convert on two chances in Anaheim. Michal Neuvirth made 30 saves against the Ducks; with Buffalo playing on consecutive nights, Jhonas Enroth could get the call against the Kings.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles forward Jordan Nolan and his father, Sabres coach Ted Nolan, will face each other for the first time when the Kings go for their fifth win in a row. It’s the first time in Jordan’s career that he’ll be playing against a team coached by his dad. “It’s just another game,” Jordan told “It’s just a little more of a special feeling out there I would think. I’m not looking to be saying hello to him in the game or anything like that. But I’m sure we’ll talk before the game and after the game and I’m sure I’ll give him a little look during the game. So it’s going to be fun I think and I have family that will be watching.” The Kings will also get some help on the blue line with the expected return of Jake Muzzin, who’s missed three weeks because of an upper-body injury.

Injury Report:

Buffalo: Kaleta Facial Fractures(IR/Out), Hackett Torn ACL(IR/Out)

Los Angeles: Bodnarchuk Knee(IR/Out), Lewis Upper Body(IR/Out), Muzzin Upper Body(Probable), Gaborik Upper Body(Probable)
